On the morning of January 19, 2025 in Prague, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met and listened to the opinions of leaders of 10 typical Vietnamese enterprises in the Czech Republic and Europe. This event aims to strengthen the connection between the Government and the Vietnamese business community abroad, while creating conditions to remove obstacles in business activities in the international market.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Chu, Vice President of the European Union of Overseas Vietnamese Business Associations, President of the Center for Support and Development of Trade & Culture Hungary – Vietnam, and President of DC Handel Kft Company, was selected as one of the 10 typical businessmen attending the event. Representing labor supply enterprises in Hungary, Europe, and Vietnam, as well as many Hungarian enterprises employing Vietnamese workers, Mr. Chu gave a short speech to the Prime Minister on an important issue related to labor policy.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Chu pointed out the difficulties caused by the Hungarian Government temporarily suspending the issuance of D work visas to Vietnamese people, in the context that the Agreement on receiving Vietnamese people who violate the laws of the host country between Hungary and Vietnam has not yet been signed. This is a major obstacle, especially when neighboring countries such as the Czech Republic and Poland have signed this agreement, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese workers in those countries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh listened to and acknowledged this issue, and expressed his strong support. He pledged to direct relevant ministries and branches to promptly remove obstacles as soon as the working group returns to Vietnam. The positive response from the Prime Minister brings much hope to the business community and Vietnamese workers in Hungary and Europe, and at the same time demonstrates the Government’s special attention to the overseas Vietnamese community and international cooperation.
