The process of making lacquer is very elaborate and requires high skills: from flattening the surface, applying many layers of paint (usually 7-10 layers), drying naturally, polishing, inlaying (eggs, mother-of-pearl, gold, silver, etc.), to hand-painting patterns. Lacquer products have a deep gloss, durable colors over time, are waterproof and can withstand hot and humid climates.
