1. TRANSPORT ENVIRONMENT
Transport media are effective in preserving bacteria in specimens for long periods of time, ensuring the integrity and growth of bacteria when testing is required.

2. SPECIALIZED CULTURE SYSTEM
- Agar plates: used to isolate bacteria from clinical specimens
- Supplements: added to culture media to provide nutrients or to selectively select bacteria.
- Support media: includes media for preserving bacterial strains, cultivating bacteria in vitro or supporting microbiological testing. Common media:
- 1.7mL Eppendorf tube, screw cap: BHI 20% glycerol (MI 004 CM).
- 20mL glass tube: 10mL sterile physiological saline (MI 006 CM).
- 20mL glass tube: Ogawa (MI 007 CM).
- 5mL glass vial: other media.
- Enrichment media – rich: includes non-selective or selective enrichment media for bacteria in the test specimen, helping to optimize bacterial detection.
3. TWO-PHASE BLOOD CULTURE BOTTLE – ADVANCED TOOL IN DIAGNOSING SEPSIS
Two-phase blood culture bottles are used to perform blood culture testing for pathogens causing bacteremia.
